If Two Men Can Connect Belief Without Seeing, Why Is It So Hard For You?

In general we are taught that, “Seeing is Believing”.

Perhaps we ought to acquire an extraordinary reversal of thought that - “Believing Is Seeing”.

Esref Armagan is no ordinary man as you can see on a discovery video on YouTube.   Esref is a painter from Turkey who wants to be remembered for his art and his ability to see the world through his finger tips.  The vibrant colors, the details and use of light are all remarkable for this painter.  Although you may, or may not be impressed with his artwork, the remarkableness of Esref is that he has been completely blind since birth.

So how does this amazing man paint if he’s never seen color or light in his life?  His answer is simple; he believes what he see’s in his mind and brings it to life by putting it on canvas.

Scientists wanted to understand this phenomenon so he agreed to let them study his brain.  They connected him to an MRI scan, and as he thought about drawing a picture, regions of his brain became actively dynamic.  The results revealed were ground breaking from a scientific perspective, but to me it once again affirms that “as a man thinketh, so he is”.

Another Remarkable Man

My cousin, Brad Barrows, is also blind.   He can tell who is in the room whether the person is speaking or not.  He knows their walk, their breathing patterns, even how they clear their throat.  He has perfect pitch, can play just about any instrument you put into his hands beautifully, sings extremely well and shares this gift with everyone no matter where or when.

He has given a kidney to a young boy he was mentoring a few years ago through the big brother/big sister program and has an amazing love for God and people.

What these men have in common is that they don’t have to see in order to believe.  They see because they believe.

Vision alters our ability to understand space.  We understand angles, distance and direction and all of those things are believable to us because we see them, but if you couldn’t see them with your eyes, you still have the ability to believe in them.

To really help people in extraordinary ways, you must learn to connect belief even during challenges.  And all someone has to do is to believe in an answer that they can see in their mind and start on it immediately, and within six months, their life could start to multiply and change.

So What Do You Believe?

Do you have a desire in your heart that has been there for 20 years or more but because you are afraid to be disappointed you refuse to believe in the possibility?  Have you been waiting to ‘see’ something happen before you start to believe its possible?

The greatest healer I am aware of was a man named Jesus.  He would often say, “Your faith has made you well.”  He didn’t say, “Your eyes have made you well, or your work has made you well or being a good mom has made you well.”  What you B-E-L-I-E-V-E makes you well.

How Will You Connect To What You Believe?

No matter who we are there will be days when we will feed our doubts and fears far more than we’ll feed our faith to believe in the possibilities.  That is why Connecting to your heart is crucial….is this not where your desires lay waiting to be created?  What is preventing you from believing anything is possible?

God wants to give you the desires of your heart!  How do I know this is true?  Because over 6 years ago I learned to feed my faith and starve my doubts.  I spent time listening and connecting and I was led to help others connect so they too can witness the miracles that happen every day in life.  You don’t have to see them….you just have to believe they are there.

  5. Hi Kellie, this goes right to the heart of the matter. We always see what we believe! If we are living lives that are not happy, we need to check our beliefs and what we say about our lives. We will hear ourselves say things like, “I should have known it wouldn’t last”, “You have to experience pain to enjoy freedom from pain” and such things. Then we see ourselves living those ideas out… To have a different life, we mush have different thoughts. Our thoughts determine our destiny.

Your examples are brilliant! How wonderful that Brad is your cousin and you get to know him.

    Thanks so much.

Thank you Sandy. You have brought up some very traditional statements and you are so right about how we live them out. Isn’t it amazing how we’ve have had to retrain our brains? I enjoy your thoughts Sandy and you are full of wisdom.

  8. Kellie,

Two wonderful examples of believing to make it happen… whatever that “it” is for us in our lives. At times we truly are limited by the our physical senses as we tend to rely on them to perceive and in turn believe in things.

We have the power and ability to create so much through our beliefs… and we appreciate you for writing this post as a reminder to have the faith and belief to move ourselves toward our vision and goals.

    Thanks,
    ~ Pat and Lorna

  10. What a powerful post. Thanks for sharing it. Believing leads to seeing and then seeing is believing – and even the brain registers the power of believing.

I had the honor of meeting a young man at a convention a few years back, Ben Underwood. If you are not familiar with him, be sure to check this out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YBv79LKfMt4 ~ another extraordinary display of what is possible if only you believe!

Oh Beth I was so excited to read your comment about Ben Underwood. Thank you for sending that link. WOW! It is amazing to me what he accomplished because of his mother’s attitude. What does that say?! Sadly Ben died on his 17th birthday last year from the cancer that took his sight, but I plan to interview his mother now thanks to you! :) She’s a life changer for sure. You’re pretty amazing yourself Beth. *BIG HUGS*
